Listening to Randall singing the
Biblical Song of Songs by King
Solomon on Christmas Day –
Corn on the cob boiled in a pot, rich with
butter and tasty with salt – “the love of
the Lord is costly”
Randall now singing Psalm Ninety-One: “Who
will succour me? The Lord is my shepherd
for evermore…”
You helped me make a mosaic in shades of blue;
I cried when confronted by tiles, three rulers
and glue, but you did not forsake me
A pattern in turquoise, topaz and azure -
green beans for health, meringue for dessert,
topped with ice-cream -
You were a gourmet chef on this Christmas day,
smiling with gladness, happiness forming a
halo around your head…
