Last night when I should have been
sleeping, I was wide awake thinking
and dreaming, now I’m sitting here
with a head burning and a mind all
tired and useless, energy-depleted,
no other avenue of help but to go out
hunting for toxic foodstuffs to eat, the
plastic, rubbery junk they sell on street,
I can’t lie on my arms in the open-plan
office, it is not debonair at all to reveal
weakness, just a moment longer with
my head down, then setting off like a
steam train to tackle the fatigue with a
vengeance!
