Thank You Sabine

Sabine thinks English shows deficiencies, but I think

English makes up for German diminutives in various

ways as in “Piglet” and "Manniken", allowing one to

take a leaf from the Pratchettian series with its poetic

license and make up words like "flower-ken"  - when

Feeling wicked, create terrible names hated by the famed

language gurus; such as "Mensiekin" an aberration "Mensch"

with the diminutive "-ie" enriched with another diminutive

"-ken", one could write "Sausage-ken" - though I fear the

gods on Dunmanifestin’s wrath should they ever find out

I love that Sabine likes Afrikaans so much, my beautiful mother

tongue, first documented in the 18th century by Muslim

scholars in the Arabic script - thank you Sabine for sharing

your expertise - quite clearly a language genius - it’s such a

relief that you keep an eye on translation for Her Majesty

With your input everything’s done perfectly: Do you agree

to circumvent the dubious Afrikaans term for "intestine"

all crudities debarred when translating for the

Willighagen family?

[Pratchettian: Sir Terry Pratchett, creator of the “Discworld Series”

“Dunmanifestin”: Equivalent Olympian abode of the Discworld gods

as described by Pratchett.]
