The Hummingbird flew into the deepest part
of the dense, green tropical forest and stopped
at an enchanted stream. Alice ate wild berries
and drank sweet nectar from the flowers, then
made garlands of exotic forest flowers.
She hummed a lovely lullaby and soon a few
small elves had gathered round to listen. The
Sandman passed by and stopped to listen also,
then asked Alice if he could record her song
and play it for children far and wide
so they could fall asleep without the Sandman
having to work so hard to strew sand in their
eyes. Alice sang the song several times and
the Sandman made lovely recordings, off he
went very satisfied
while Alice was so sleepy by then, she dozed off –
only a few minutes ago this information was
received by Klax via the Discworld - as Alice is
dreaming of Terry Pratchett and Soul Music and
Death's lovely granddaughter Susan
after singing lullabies - we are still waiting to hear
more - in the meantime, the Southern Scribe has
been invited to a formal dinner at Unseen University
- right now she is having a most elucidating discussion
with the orangutan in the Library
discussing quantum quirks and the magical ability
to shrink and stretch time and space...
