When Alice woke up, she found that the King of
the North had arrived, and he and FAD were walking
on the river’s edge, FAD picking flowers and the King
gesticulating in his explanations of his plans for building
a wooden forest cabin so Alice would have a new
holiday place to stay and he and FAD can stay
overnight in the beautiful Magic Forest.
Alice ran to them and in great excitement told them
about making recordings for the Sandman, then the
pages and women-in-waiting called everybody together
and served them a most marvelous tea. Just then Karl
and Sophia arrived with Suikerklont and the lovely
painted wagon, and joined the happy group.
Sophia showed FAD what beautiful embroidery she
had done on her new dress, and FAD showed Sophia
her latest diplomatic documents in gilded letters.
The King of the North discussed matters of state with
Karl and they animatedly debated the fate of the
continent of Africa.
They heard a great whooshing sound, and all were
overjoyed to see the spaceship of Semjonof land,
and he and Ludmilla joined the group. Alice was so
glad to go on a sightseeing tour of the spaceship,
and FAD and Sophia admired the lovely kitchenette
with organically grown plants to sustain the space
travelers on their furthest travels, while Semjonof
showed the King and Karl how the sound system
worked that made the spaceship invisible on its
voyages, as well as how the harmonics worked
that allowed the spaceship to cover infinite
distances in a matter of seconds.
Here we leave the lovely party and the Southern
Scribe is starting to get ready for bed, wishing for
sleep more than anything; and wondering what
the Alien of the North was going to do on this
glorious day – hoping that he would have enough
challenges to bring excitement and satisfaction…
- the sleepy Southern Scribe.
