Great Poem Dan, and YES, South Africa is best
for Amira because - joy of joys - we lack that gang
of hyenas, here we have NO paparazzi as here they
would become food for lions and hyenas, that is IF
our criminal gangs did not get them first, so Amira is
FREE to live her life unencumbered by the press that
Drove Charlotte Church insane in the good old British
Isles - not to speak of what happened to Princess Diana!
Here our life is infinitely protected because conditions
are dangerous, our homes are behind burglar bars and
barbed wire, we have to lock our cars when we drive
around, but we smile and wave at each other, we flash
Our lights to say thank you when another car lets us pass,
the taxi drivers are the friendliest people I have ever come
across, and when we press a panic button, big men with
very big guns charge around and chase whatever may have
scared us in our homes, and security guards are handsome,
exciting people with integrity & there are no open
channels
On TV with porn and smut open for small kids to see, we
can choose to protect our morals and integrity, and Amira
and Fincent can enjoy their childhood like children should,
running free without delinquent gangs forcing cigarettes
and drugs on them, and they can go to church without
seeming to be lonely weirdos, because religion here still
Has deep meaning, and Amira can meet the children she
loves in her playgrounds and take care of them, and meet
the animals in so many private and national reserves, and
while Europeans form only 7% or less of the population, the
African people are the warmest, friendliest, happiest
people
and they embrace Amira with delight and they are honest,
Uncomplicated and filled with a joie de vivre that makes me
sing and laugh with them, just the right place for Amira to
sing
and hone her acting skills, and the Europeans love to meet
and do not try to grab each other by the throat and chew
young
artists up and spit them out - South Africa is quite a
paradise,
one of the most beautiful countries in the world, and to
live here
In our warm sunshine and fresh air is like experiencing a
slice
of paradise, and the privilege for us of having Amira here
where
she belongs because of her maternal heritage, is
indescribable,
she is with the madcaps of my Afrikaans-speaking
compatriots
where her brilliant sense of humour makes her the brightest
jewel
in our crown, I hope you see she is in the most wonderful
place
Where she could ever be, thank you for this marvelous poem,
YES indeed - TWICE BEAUTIFUL by Dan and Sue Rogers
Mills
A combination
that's so rare
You wonder if it's
really there:
The best soprano in
the world
Is also the most
lovely girl!
The beauty of her voice
and face
Is God's own gift.
Amazing grace
As she proceeds to
cast her spell
On all the world.
We're at her feet,
And nowhere else is
half as sweet.
A wondrous thought,
but one can guess
We'd rather be up
close to hear
A lovely singer:
Our Amira.
'm glad she isn't living here.
No, not the Western
Hemisphere
Where they don't
care what age you are
When you're an up
and coming star.
They'll chew you up and spit you out!
South Africa is best, no doubt.
They take Amira at
her pace
And let her know
it's not a race
Like other races she has run
And, likely, she
has always won!
As Gelukskinders
likes to say:
All children have a
right to play.
