Rincewind’s Integrity

*
Finished reading Sourcery, once again integrity
won the day, Rincewind, supposedly the worst
wizard ever to pass through Unseen University
emerged as the hero in spite of his protestations
to the contrary

When all the great wizards fled and left the boy
sourcerer to be destroyed by his own magic staff
Rincewind stood fast, saved the boy, Rincewind
asked Who Should Go - then went himself; and
the Librarian, the one

On whom the more respectable look down, proved
himself by playing the bravest role in keeping the
magic books safe, all the little people, the seeming
powerless ones stood against evil in the most
admirable way

There is nothing cynical about Terry Pratchett, he
rejects all false sentimentality and replaces it with
a deeper truth, there is so much detail, I have to
reread to focus on the underlying theme which
is to do what is necessary

Even when we are dying of fear!
