Must take Nici to the library to renew
her books, sister-in-law had a stroke
and will be there also, I wonder what
caused the upset in her heart mani-
festing in physical symptoms, her
presence is very dear, she has a small
grandson, now’s the time to enjoy his
gurgling laughter, not fall ill at all, I
hope she will be fine and that we shall
all have the privilege of enjoying each
other's company for many years to come
She is the very model of a modern Major-
General*, should tone down a fastidious
attitude to life, we cannot afford to lose
her; she is the only peer group family
member we see from time to time, all
others have already gone - Alec in
Nieu Zealand, Dorothy on Cloud Nine
Jeanette entered nirvana long ago
only Hans and Thea represent
our age in family ties…
